Circle Together Session

A focused session that helps your team contribute to the business values and culture.

Overview

Having values within your business allows the full team to understand what you stand for. They reflect your culture and can help grow your brand.

Values that the full team has contributed to should underpin every touchpoint in the business both internally and externally. They should be the foundation for your all your communications and behaviours within the team and with the outside world.

Our Circle Together session will get your team to contribute to what they think the values should be and importantly be excited about their future direction in the business.

What to expect

1.

Before the session, we will sit down and discuss your team structure and everyone’s role within the team.

Then everyone in the team will receive a form from me so I can understand what motivates them and what they stand for. These forms must be completed within half an hour. It helps me understand every member of the team.

Over the course of the session I will sit down with the team and together we will work through what the values within the organisation are.

During the session, all team members will be actively encouraged to contribute their thoughts on what the values are. They will be able give their thoughts, to shape the culture and feel part of living the values of your brand.

There will be discussions on why values are important and how they can shape everyone’s career path within the organisation.

Usually 3 or 4 values are decided upon and these can sometimes cut across both internal and external values.

After the session you have the option to continue working with me to embed the values across all aspects of the business.

Amongst other things, this can include the internal and external messaging, internal documentation and business development.

Case study

Ambitious organisation led by one main director. Growing awareness that the staff team operated with values and behaviours and wanted this formalising.

  • Approached by founder of the company to work on a values project with the growing staff base. They were aware that the staff team were ambitious and keen and so wanted all the staff to be involved in a project to contribute to what the values were and what they should be.

    • Sent the owner a set of questions to answer about the current staff members and their roles and responsibilities.

    • All staff were given a form to complete so I could get an understanding of their motivations.

    • Held an off-site half day strategy session with all staff members.

    • Asked and listened to establish the core inherent values and them worked with the team to distil this down to 4 values which could be used both internally and externally.

    • Mid way through the session, the business owner joined the session (and brought food!) and we spent the remainder of the time going through the values the team had come up with.

    • The owner was delighted that the values were in line with the ethos of the firm they were building and knew they could easily be embedded into all the internal and external messaging.

    We are now working together on a project to embed across the messaging, the HR processes, the operations and overall behaviours in the firm.
